United States Senator John H. Glenn, Jr. (Democrat of Ohio) is the ranking minority member of the Senate Governmental Affairs Committee which is investigating alleged abuses in campaign funding in 1996, photographed in Washington, D.C. on July 8, 1997.  Glenn served in the Marines for 22 years and is also the first American to Orbit the Earth.  He also served as the Committee's chairman from 1986 until 1994.  Was involved in the "Keating 5" scandal and was found guilty of poor judgement.  Glenn will not seek re-election in 1998.
