Strasbourg, France - April 4, 2009 -- Final press conference by the President of France, Nicholas Sarkozy, left, NATO Secretary General Jaap de Hoop Scheffer, center, and Angela Merkel, Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany, following the NATO Summit in Strasbourg and Kehl where it was announced the 28 NATO Heads of State and Government agreed uninamously to appoint Prime Minister Anders Fogh Rasmussen of Denmark as NATO's next Secretary General.  Mr Fogh Rasmussen will formally take up his duties on August 1, 2009, when the term of the current Secretary General, Jaap de Hoop Scheffer expires after five and a half years at the helm of the Alliance. .Mandatory Credit: NATO via CNP
