Consolidated News Photos (CNP) specializes in national news and political coverage originating in Washington, D.C. It was opened in 1962 by award-winning photojournalist Arnie Sachs. Today, CNP is operated by Ron Sachs. CNP's photographers hold permanent accreditation to the White House and the United States Congress. It also covers major league sports such as Washington Nationals Baseball and Washington Redskins Football. CNP's photographers are available for assignment work as well. Ron Sachs is a second-generation photojournalist based in the Washington, D.C. area. He and his family have covered every United States President since Harry Truman through their newspicture agency, Consolidated News Photos (CNP). Ron regularly covers events at the White House; the U.S. Capitol covering both the House and the Senate; and sports focusing on Washington Nationals baseball and Washington Redskins football. His work appears regularly in the New York Post and many other publications including the Washington Post, Washington Times, Time Magazine, Newsweek, People Magazine, and Paris Match. Ron served as the campaign photographer for U.S. President George H.W. Bush in 1992. His photos have also appeared in the motion picture "A Few Good Men". In addition to his news work, Ron does commercial assignments. Until very recently Ron served as one of the six members of the U.S. Senate Standing Committee of Press Photographers.  This committee determines the photographic coverage of the U.S. House and Senate, the Democratic and Republican National Conventions, and the Presidential Inaugurations. Additionally, Ron served as President of the White House News Photographers Association from 2011 through 2015 where he continues as a member, and is also a current member of the White House Correspondents Association and the National Press Photographers Association.
