President Gerald R. Ford

United States President Gerald R. Ford, left, and Jesse Owens, right, American track and field athlete and four-time Olympic gold medalist in the 1936 games, in the East Garden of the White House in Washington, DC during an event to honor the US stars of the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal on August 5, 1976.  The President later presented Mr. Owens with a plaque from the US Government and praised him for his athletic accomplishments.<br />
