President Gerald R. Ford

United States Representative Gerald R. Ford (Republican of Michigan), United States Vice President-designate, takes his oath as he is sworn-in to testify on his confirmation before the United States Senate Rules Committee in Washington, D.C. on November 1, 1973.  Ford, the United States House of Representatives Minority Leader, was appointed by United States President Richard M. Nixon to replace Vice President Spiro Agnew who resigned after pleading no contest to a charge of income tax evasion.<br />
