First lady Betty Ford shares a warm moment with her husband, United States President Gerald R. Ford after they had discussed her decorating improvements in the Oval Office at the White House in Washington, D.C. on December 6, 1974.  The room became brighter and had a more casual atmosphere.  A light rug from the Johnson Administration has replaced the formal blue carpet with the Presidential emblem that previously covered the floor.  A collection of family pictures has been added to the small table behind his desk near the windows of the Oval Office.<br />
